EA has utterly failed at producing not just RTS games but PC games in general. They are meant to be making console games and do those very well, but their greed to intrude on PC gaming will fail if they can't get out of the console gaming menallity.
Meant to be or not, they 100% *are* interconnected. It could have been done better, but it wasn't. So why is it that EA continues to push the C&C storyline with 'Tiberium' (upcoming FPS) and C&C3? And furthermore, why release a Red Alert 3 *at all*? And even FURTHER.....why have C&C:Red Alert, C&C:Red Alert 2, then 'Red Alert 3'. They're sooooo f*cking retarded. Repair the storyline since you started it, and show a little bit of creativity for once. And for the love of God do not insult the C&C Universe by taking the 'C&C' prefix off of one game in a series of about, what, 6-7 games (not including expansions).
Oh, and as far as 'long story lines' being a problem: I think the Warcraft franchise is doing quite well with its extremely complicated and LONG storyline.
