it happened when it started to update to pre beta 8 i think it was called

can you fix this

my virus protection got rid of it before it did anything

i then resetup night regulator then went though the updates again after a few i get the virus agian the same one

i tryed agian to reset it up but i keep getting that over and over

it never stoped the updates before
now my server doesnt have a bot thats up to date becuase i get that virus agian around the 3 or 4th update everythime i going to use 3.4 till this problem is fixed

Running Norton on a home computer is fine for antivirus support. But if you're going to run NR at home on your home computer, don't complain when things like Norton cry wolf.

It's not a virus and NR isn't made for home computers. It's made for servers (which most firewall and antivirus software doesn't work on). If you were running it on a dedicated server box with server firewall/antivirus and it detected it as a virus, I'd be a bit more suprised.

But quite honestly, don't expect much of your FDS and NR if you're running it from home. That seems a bit silly to me anyway.

Point is: NR never was, and never will be, a virus. When antivirus programs detect a computer manipulation (which COULD be a virus) but it doesn't know for sure what it is, it gives it a generic name like the one you provided. If you research it on google it will tell you what the symptoms are and why your antivirus is triggering NR as a virus. But I assure you, it has absolutely nothing malicious about it. If you remember, even RenGuard had this issue. Innocent, clean, programs often have these false warnings.

Norton has a long history of detecting legit programs as viruses. Not to long ago Norton detected RenGuard as a virus if you remember. Thats one of the many reasons why alot of people dont like Norton.

after a while of updateing like 5 updates this time

it says

Run-time error '5':
Invalid procedure call or argument

then a norton thing pops up saying that it detected a virus on my computer
saying it is a high risk and is unable to repair the file and access to the file was denied

and it doesnt give the entire file path when it says the object name but it says it is NightRegulator[1].743215
