Would you use our app? [Read More]

Post by fl00d3d »

If TGN/Tsulutions developed an application for your phone (or a widget for your desktop), would you install it and use it?

This app (application) would be used to use the common features of the website such as posting to the shoutbox, forums, and chat room. You would also, more than likely, be able to manage your network account/profile.

Yes = for users who would definitely utilize an application such as this
No = for users who more than likely would not use it because going to the website is just as easy (or preferred)

Possibly because BBCode is disabled in this forum.

I see no reason not to, so i voted yes, but I feel the energy spent in developing an application would not be worth the outcome. The current features listed definitely won't be worth while enough to use on a day to day basis when we have access to a computer. With the release of a TeamSpeak app that you have to buy, if you incorporated TS into this application, you would most likely receive flak from TeamSpeak LLC's legal department. After writing this, I'd like to change my vote to no. Developing an embedded TS on the site so you don't have to download it would be sweet and more worth the time. Because there are many forum-active people who don't download TS because they would use it once in a blue moon. If it was embedded, they would have 0 reason not to use TS :).

Can't edit: Also, by the ts incorporated into the app, not saying you will do that, that's if you were considering that to make the app more useful.

The app would more than likely hook an existing app or at least connect to chat functionality.

There is already a teamspeak (official) app for smartphones, though. And it's actually quite good.

I personally should not use this very much as my smart phone does not have internet access and probably wont any time soon.
The Idea is pretty cool though.
