Who would play REGULARLY on a Renegade server?

If we were to put up a C&C:Renegade server, would you play on it REGULARLY (at least once per day, for more than an hour at a time)?

Would you donate to help keep the server alive?

More than likely it would be a 'Mutation' (game mode) server.

I should also point out that alot of our mutation following are not on this forum..... but migrated to other servers when we shut down and stayed with ren.

Whether we run a Renegade server, though, ultimately comes down to donations. In order to revive a dead game, we need to justify it with a lot of interest and some donations. The interest is there. It's the donations I'm worried about.

Nightma12 and I have agreed that our FINANCIAL situation is:

Minimum budget: $35/month (covers web and teamspeak)
Safe budget: $60/month (can sustain for 2 months without increased donations, but would eventually need more donations)
Maximum budget: $90/month (requires more donations)

If we were to run a Renegade server we would need to be close to the Maximum budget (goal of approximately $120/mo so we can get a dedi and virtualize on it)

The only way I'm going to get a Windows VPS is if I see like 5+ people vote for "I will play every day AND donate". We literally need $30-40/month worth of donations each month --donations that we don't already get from our regular donors-- just for Windows VPS (Renegade). The increase in cost is due to increased licensing expenses, increased minimum hardware requirements, and decreased host selection.

I simply cannot justify a Windows VPS (or Dedi) unless the reason for getting it (Renegade) makes it worth my while. I very much prefer webhosting and teamspeak on Linux operating systems.

A decision will need to be made on this within the next day or two. Therefore Renegade might have to wait a month or two.

these dont come in in the view new post section (none of the polls or news do actually ... so i have missed this tread... but i would play probably about three to four times a week and would be in IRC 24/7 with we were to run one

Erm... no its not? Its simply because windows web hosing is a b*tch... Yes the minimum hardware increases.. but we were well over that limit anyway lol. As if were going to use 1.5GB of RAM on webhosting + teamspeak.
