We have the same OS and processor, but they don't work for me. I boot up Renegade and it crashes.

Back up your data file and then try the scripts and see if they work. If it messes up your renegade then reninstall to where you had everything then replace your data folder.

...or you can have a copy of your old scripts and a copy of the new ones, and then just overwrite them in your Renegade folder. The scripts have nothing to do with your data folder.

i have just a little bit worse comp than u m0fire trust it will work with ur ren but only problem is the crashing it will cause u just watch ^^

i couldnt get 3.4 to work at all
so i downloaded the file from tsu forums and it work (i knew cause ren started 2 crash ~_~)
but i got it 2 work by installing rg(i know its a piece of crap)but u can play ren without loading rg
it works fine now
but with rg and 3.4 installed it seems 2 make me lag more for some reason ~_~

Celerons are Pentium rejects (literally). Not good for gaming.

Your video card is good enough for Renegade, but I'd recommend running at 800x600 resolution with medium level graphics.

i play 8*6 window mode

but going 2 try the next 1 down 2 see how it runs

Try playing fullscreen instead, I find that my FPS is about 55 when playing in windowed mode compared to the normal 70 in fullscreen.

On my PC I get about 400-700fps in Windowed Mode (vice Full Screen). But the quality goes down.

I'm quite happy with my 1600x1200 resolution on a 21" monitor (full screen) though.

I have vsync enabled so the FPS is clamped to 70. If I turn vsync off it used to run around 380fps or so with my old 7600GT, I have not tried it with my new 9600GT. Personally I don't see the point in rendering hundreds of frames a second when the monitor only refreshes at 70 hertz anyway, so you don't even see most of the frames.
