Are you oldschool?

Post by fl00d3d »

Been playing Renegade for way too long? I know how old you must feel, trust me. I'm right there with ya, being from one of the first demo clans.

I was looking through some of my screenshots tonight looking back on my history in the Renegade community and I found some really oldschool screenshots. Lot's of memories. I'll post them tomorrow after I get some from the rest of you.

This topic is dedicated to posting your really old screenshots (I'm talking about screenshots from the first year or so of Renegade). Not 2 years ago. Not even 3! I'm talking 4-5+ years ago!! Also, post your stories of things you remember from 'back in the day'.

You know, back when:
  • Cheats didn't exist yet.
  • The gamespy lobby was filled with a shitload of people (never any less than 40-50 people).
  • When the old WOL system was around with clan management and a working ladder
  • The largest and most popular servers were servers like, LVGA (aww yeah, I went there!)
  • Ownage clans like GSE and TA were still rolling over everyone that THOUGHT they knew how to play
  • fl00d3d was in BiO :(
Let's see YOUR screenshots! Let's hear YOUR stories!

Caveman is NOT a noob. He is a very good friend of mine and he knows more about computers then fl00d3d quite frankly. :p

Then you obviously don't know either of us very well. I know for a fact I know more than him. Not like this is a pissing contest, but him and I have spoke numerous times. I have hands on network administration experience. I have hands on network security/attack experience. I have A+ certification. I have programming experience. I don't think he has any of that. He's a hobbyist (which is fine), but never into it like I was (and am). Btw, its "a lot" (two words). Every time I see "alot" or "allot" I grit my teeth -_-

Well everything I learned about computers and networking and basically, everything is because he set a foundation for me. And built me up an in-mind structural database and that is now why I know a lot about computers.

By the way fl00d3d, allot and a lot are both acceptable words. FireFox doesn't see "allot" as a improper word. However, ironically, Firefox sees "FireFox" as an improper word. ppr(

bleh I played so much back then, when the clan management system in-game barely worked, ie you could follow the links but the text didn't show, I could still do it by memory.

You cannot phrase/spell "a lot" as allot. They mean two completely different things. You meant to say "a lot", spelled it wrong, then tried to recover. But you're not fooling me. ;)
