I am pleased to announce that we will soon be launching a brand new internet radio service on behalf of the network.
This "radio" service will provide a variety of programs, such as:
- Talk shows
- Interviews
- Game audio streams
- Music
We are currently implementing and testing the necessary technologies involved so this is not active at the time of this post.
Slayde is the appointed TGN Radio Manager and will be overseeing all projects. In the coming weeks and months, he will be looking for staff members to help him put together shows and interviews. He will also be looking for qualified individuals to help manage certain functions of the service.
Please welcome Slayde to the position and give a loud cheer for the next evolution of the Tsunami Gaming Network!

So just wonderin, how's this gonna work out? Will there be a webpage on TGN with the radio service on it? Or will there be a designated channel on teampseak? Or can I tune in to 109.4 xD

The plan is "all of the above". We plan on implementing a web-based access, a file-based access (ie. stream through Winamp or something similar), and routing into a teamspeak channel.

Interested as to how this is going to conflict with my position, seeing as a lot of his focus is going to be directly related to it.
I suppose I'll hear something about it from you both soon so we can set up a gameplan.
Regardless, congrats Slayde, looking forward to work with you in the coming time.

It won't overstep your authority as I&R Manager. Put simply: if you don't want interviews or reviews put on the radio then they won't be put on the radio. I have instructed Slayde to work with you. He is in charge of the communication medium. And you are in charge of the process. If you two choose to combine them that is up to the two of you to work out (ie. he give you air time for interviews, or he replays your interview).
Don't worry, Johny boy.

For an actual station "IE 109.4" correct, we would need an FCC license. However, in speaking with a few people from shoutcast, as well as BMI, to do what we want to, we would not need a license. We would only need a license if we were going to start streaming professionally, either for or to larger companies. Or, if we planned to stream onto the actual airwaves, or broadcast via a cable network. But just to stream over our own site via the internet, for this, we need not a license.

Also, what fl00d3d says is true, if you do not wish your interviews and such to be broadcast, then they don't have to be. We are simply offering tha as an option, partially in hopes to make your job a little easier. Although, personally, I like the idea of being able to listen to interviews with plays, its more dynamic. But, we could definitely do all three, post it, replay it, and/or broadcast it.
