Pictures should be allowed in posts at bigger dimensions than 600x600px. Even 800x800 or 700x700 would make things a lot easier and not really detract from the quality of the site. You could even lower the allowed signature size to compensate; some members' sigs here are obnoxiously large.

The problem with larger images is the goal (flexibility) of incorporating forum posts into a template. If the template "frame" is only 700 pixels wide (example), we wouldn't want it stretching or scrolling with 800px graphics.

I'm alright with having larger graphics at any location as long as it's automatically resized if it's over a certain width. Which I believe is how it's setup right now.

I'm down with automatic resizing. At the moment you can't upload/embed anything over 600x600, I think.

Ya medici's right. It'd be nice if the site would just downsize the picture automatically. I only use imageshack for posting photos here cuz of it :(

I've removed restrictions. There appears to have been more strict restrictions applied to attachments (also removed).

Let me know if the resizing is working.

I believe the reason we made the restriction is because the resizing wasn't working properly.

If this hasn't been confirmed yet, I'm pretty sure the auto-resize is working as intended. The image I added was 400x700 and it seemed to resize down, though it didn't necessarily need to as it was 700 tall, not wide.
