Changes

So what changes do we think needs done to the server?

Whats lame and cheap that needs stopping?

Personally, im thinking baout making the explosion that you get when the person with the brain dies kill people. Make a remote C4 go off or something, that will stop people from camping over the person who dies with the brain.

Also, if you get the chicken, your not allowed to get the health upgrades when you pick up the brain.

Who agress? :) Any other ideas to balance the game out a bit?

A. remove chicken B. if that dont work reduce its health to 30 with no armor to make it fair >.>
Mesa needs to be smaller cause the bridge part is so cheap cause spawnning past there is impossible

ok, ive changed some stuff..

Chicken can no longer get volt. Chicken dousnt auto regen with brain. chicken dousnt get 250 health with brain.

Lets see how that plays?

Who likes the idea of a second brain (ill probably use a DNA strand for the 2nd one and call it Kanes DNA) - going ingame when more than 10 people are ingame?

and would there be anyway to seamlessly transition people from gdi to own to nod

when some has the brain they are on nod everyone else in on gdi when they drop the brain everyone becomes own and when someone picks up the brain everyone with out the brain becomes gdi again (this would solve the friendly fire problem of the server (oh and turn friendly fire off except while they are on own)

its possible.. but its not "seamless"

Have you noticed when you pick up the brain you sort of... skip a step? Thats what will happen.

It could be done though? What does everyone think?

Would it be possible for the person with the brain to pick up the DNA and vice versa? If so are there additional powerups...

Seems like a good idea o.O But would have to change the name again :D Make me like Kane!

well i have noticed that but that doesnt bother me at all would doing that to the whole server at the same time lag the hell out of it?

-Please remove the chicken, the raptor, triceratops, etc. Animals are too weird and are what ruined Mutation for me. It just doesn't make sense.

-The person(s) with Kane's brain/DNA need to lose health, not gain it as it is. Currently, that just promotes them hiding or starting endless chases around rocks, walls, etc.

Make them degenerate health (not killing them, just down to 1 health), and require them to kill the other players to gain health. This way they'll still have some advantage, but keeps them actually playing.

-Add an objective for having the brain/DNA. Right now it's dull just getting them and holding them until you have enough points to win.

I suggest something like this: There are four or so objective terminals spread throughout the map. Player A picks up the brain. A then has five minutes to "activate" all of the terminals in the map to win (You're activating a node of the primitive CABAL or something. Add a bit of a story.) Of course, you can't die or the terminals "reset" and someone else has a chance to grab the brain and activate the terminals and win.

Player B with the DNA could have a similar objective, but he's activating another set of terminals for Project Regenesis or something.

I agree about the animals. Probably why Mutation is empty most times now. But the objective is to get more points. The health degeneration isn't necessary when the whole server is after you.

The animals were removed from mutation a long time ago. - Chicken was removed completely as its over powered.

In this server, its more to do with variety. - Ive used every possible playable model in renegade, and ive been adjusting the health values to make it fairer (eg - chicken now only has 50 hp)


If its more the visual impact of having animals running around all game as opposed to balance (the tricitops has a bigger head fot example, which is why ive given it more health) - then i could remove it easily, but if its about balance, wouldnt it be best to fix the health values to get a more variety of characters ingame?

On a small game yes.. but on a larger game you can never hold the brain/DNA for a long period of time, even if you try to hide or run away, you just gang raped - which is the whole fun of the server imo

Yeah, well IF you even have it on to where it chooses someone randomly if no one picks it up, it takes too damn long. It should be 3 mins...
