I think that if you're going to do it every 5 minutes (as you've said in the thread you've referred to), don't just make the lowest player lose a life - make them become a mutant.
For example, if someone's been hiding all game, they can have 8 out of 10 lives (if enough players are in the game). How pissed will they be if they're in the belief that camping is a good tactic when in fact, they need to get points to stay as a GDI player?
Could be even better if two people were playing together, 100 points between them, 30 seconds until the next reap, and the person with less points JUST pips them to stay on GDI.
I think switching them to Nod would be better. Means that you NEED to get points, rather than thinking, "Oh, I've got 7 lives, I can go hide for 35 minutes."

I disagree. Radar is one if and people were smart enough to look at it it is easy to find people hiding. And with the new kill bonuses they aren't going to have any good weapons if they hide all game so NOD will easily be able to take out hiders if they just look at the radar.

i agree with stitch make them mutate it goes with the game mode better
this makes the people actually have to go for the mutant

It's very possible for people to not look at the radar.
Plus, the whole mutating thing after a certain amount of time adds a new dimension to the game because to survive, you HAVE to risk your lives. Quite a paradox there, but still.

Can you make two separate reap timers?
- One timer's purpose would be to beat down the hiding players at a short interval (say every minute), with a lighter penalty - such as taking a life.
- A second timer's purpose would be to randomly convert a player every 5 or 10 minutes, with player's lives being used to calculate their chance at being selected (so the more lives you have, the less likely you are to be switched - but its still possible).
This way it'd be more random, but at the same time punishes people who hide a lot or get killed a lot.
Honestly, Lee, there isn't much you're going to be able to do about this one way or another - unless you make my DM for me.

Ok, its in.
Every 4 minutes person with lowest score goes to mutants.
Its not perfect... any other suggestions?
