Like I said in the other topic, I'm thinking about having a 2v2 tournament. Maybe a 3v3 if we think we can get this organized well enough.

To make it popular, I'm thinking that we shoudl set it up as a 2v2 ... but with a twist. And that twist would be getting a PRE-committment from communities. Basically the idea is to get communities to agree to provide 1 person to help run/manage it and then to submit as many 2-player teams as possible, with a minimum of three teams. A minimum of 6 player per community.

So lets say we got communities like Jelly, N00bless, N00bstories, KoSS, etc. to all show interest in the tournament. Each would be welcome to provide a person who would help administrate the tournament (Full access to the game servers, special forum permissions, etc.) and a minimum of 6 players. So that'd be 24 players right there ... plus TsuGaming would obviously participate. We could get at least 6 players ourselves. We could get a good 14+ teams just doing that. We will also accept non-affiliated players/teams such as those who are formed as a clanwars.cc team.

I'll even offer to provide the prizes as I did with this last experimental 1v1 tournament, so that there is something worth fighting for.

If anyone has good connections with these other communities (and not just the ones listed above .. but ANY ...) get them to post in this topic if they're interested and we'll get something formal posted so people can start signing up. The rules and setup, and such, will be agreed upon between all of the elected representatives from each community.

If two people can't even organize and get four games played, then how in the world will four or six people do it?...

That's why I wanted involvement from other communities and clans. That way they already ahve the groups - and can manage their own internal communications. Rather than basically randomly matching people.

Sean... your getting way out of your head here, keep it simple 2v2, comon, we havent even sucssesfullly finished the 1v1 yet...

So basically you're confirming that Renegade is dead? That's what I'm getting from both Ecstasy and Mofir3?

If that's true, I'll stop spending TsuGaming resources on a dead game and move to other games.

I personally feel that with the TT stuff coming out and our new bot - that there will be some hope for Renegade. So I'm trying to keep the community afloat with some interest. Even if that interest is scattered.

Don't bother arguing with this post if you don't agree. I want to get the feedback of a lot of people, not have the same 2-3 people going back and forth at eachother.

Hopefully we can get some positive feedback from some others within the next week or so.

What's there to confirm? The game died the day westwood stopped caring about it, hence the amount of cheaters that invaded the game and the amount of people that left the game to Planetside and to Battlefield 1942.

There are some old player that installed the game recently, check the game play a few games but then go and move on with their lifes. It's a fun game but it's dead!

This tournament is a good idea, but you should probably schedule some days, hours for the event to occur. These could be anticipated if the players wanted but if they didn't play ahead... they'd have to join the server in the scheduled time or forfeit.

These of course should be informed ahead the timings the games would occur before the tournament started so people would see if they could join the tournament or not.

Either this or make each round longer than a week to make sure everyone fights.

Just some ideas, of course they need to be worked on!

Wait until we decide to do it. I don't even know if we'll do it yet. I wanna keep this 1v1 tourney moving and get some people organized for this new one before I make it official.

But, yeah, once its official (not yet) .cc can participate.

2 v 2 or 3 v 3 tournaments are a great idea and I will play in either. I do not play 1 v 1 tournaments as a matter of principle but would love to play in the 2 v 2 or 3 v 3.
But yes finish the 1 v 1 tournament first.
