DWC Experimentation

For those who don't know Darknes2, he's a Rene guy who's been working on a server side mod server for awhile. Him and I have been talking about the possibility of making it a TsuGaming server since I think it has some potential.

While we're working out the details and making the server more stable, here are three short videos I made of me screwing around in the server. Mind you its kinda laggy (he's hosting it from home right now, so his net update/kbps is pretty crappy), so in a "less laggy" environment (like our server box) it should be quite interesting.

Basically its a "non kill" environment. Meaning there are no objectives and people aren't supposed to fight and kill eachother. Though you can. It's more of a mess around server where you can build things and screw off. Abuse the Renegade engine. Very much like Gary's Mod for Half-Life 2 (for those who play HL2).

i could see screwing around in that :D
seems a lot like "Forge" in halo...
would it be possible to save certain maps we made through screwing around n here??

CCTF was pretty buugy before :)

Definetly not, cctf was flawless compared to this pos of a mod. You can spawn ceiling guns around the spawn area, lollers. It disconnects everybody every 10 minutes, that's really cool. If you kill one of darknes2's structures, it says something like "You destroyed one of darknes2's stuctures, you can be KICKED for this." I really hope we start kicking people for destroying our tanks in aow, lol. Did I mention half the vehicles don't work? You can also buy an obelisk gun, it can destroy any object with one hit, so much for that bridge you made. I was excited about this at first, but really it's a piece of sh*t. It would be embarrassing to host that tbh.

lol kind of anyway. I like this server and it is fun to f*ck around if your tired or cctf and aow. another thing fl00d, just an idea but how bout an infantry only server, the best serv i have played like this is on xphase.

ecstacy this seems to be barely an alpha release, i'm sure your precious CCTF was in a similar state at this point in development.... with proper balancing and perhaps a few restrictions, I think it shows great potential for screwing around, rocket races, all those silly things :)

Actually, to be completely honest ... you didn't. Darknes2 came to me and told me about it. You just convinced me to actually join it for the first time. I had been wanting to test it out, and when I was looking for a game you paged me asking to join ... so I figured "why not".

Ecstasy: no "modded server envy" pls. This guy has a lot of modding experience, so I'm sure he could fix it. Give it a chance. Plus 90% of the things you complained of were a direct result of it being laggy which I warned you about (he runs it from home). Propose fixes and I'm sure he'll address them. I was just demonstrating the concept. And I still think the concept has potential. But as with anything, it'd need tweaks.

How could I be jealous of that server? I'm being completely honest about it. CCTF was always stable, kthx.

He will make an excellent admin. I killed a few of his ramps, then he pannounced me telling me to stop or he'll kick me. I then said "Like I care" and then this, lol.
