NEW Webmaster ... again! :-)

Ladies (the few ... and proud) and Gentlemen (pffft, hardly) :-P

I'd like to introduce DrkPwner (real name = Ben).

He is a VERY experienced php coder and is responsible for quite a few projects that have yet to be announced. He's really helping me out and was also interested in being our webmaster - so I gave him the job.

DrkPwner/Ben runs Drk Studios which is located at http://www.DrkStudios.net. We are working together to get this group merged in with Tsunami Gaming - but haven't quite worked out all the details yet. In the meantime, he will use his experience with php, database management, and phpBB/IPB community administration experience to further develop the Tsunami Gaming network.

As many of you know, this is our 3rd webmaster (other than myself) that we've gone through. (He is the 3rd, we've technically only removed 2 others). Unlike the others, DrkPwner is overqualified for this position. I'm not downplaying the other people we've had, but Ben is a great guy, an adult, a student, and very interested in making this work. And I'm very excited to have him fill this position.

I'd also like to add that for the first time I feel I can say that I truely feel like I have found someone capable of meeting all of my expectations -- and trust me: that's hard!

So a very warm welcome to Ben from DrkStudios!

WELCOME! And thank you for being a part of this great community! :-)

Oh, as expected - he is an admin ..... so respect his authority as you would mine. If he makes a decision, do not contest it. If you have a problem with something he does, try to resolve it with him first - and if that can't happen then talk to me. Otherwise, just follow his directions and suggestions as if they were my own. :)

Thanks for the introduction fl00d. 8)
As stated, I'm responsible for a number of projects that have yet to be announced, most of which would probably surprise a large number of locals. I will not be the one to give specifics of any of these projects to any of you, so don't bother asking about specifics such as name, code, etc, because you won't get them.

As fl00d mentioned, I'm a very experienced PHP coder.
Some of you are probably thinking to yourselves at this point "what's PHP?" Well.. to say the least, it's a server-side preprocessor language (originally designed strictly for html manipulation) that supports dynamic manipulation of html (the make-up of every web page), images, and so on via code that resembles, to some degree, the code that your operating system is primarily comprised of (this site uses PHP to be functional).

I have 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience with PHP (taught myself in-depth through both the PHP website and some careful thought into how things were structured). I started learning PHP after pvtschlag amazed me with what he was able to do with it, I would ask for his help with the code when I was unsure of what was causing certain errors to occur. Since then, I've made image hosting scripts (allowing: upload, edit, delete, etc), the backbone of the NR website (I'm especially proud of my work on the downloads section), my own content management system, and so much more that I could just keep going on and on for hours on end.

Many of you had only heard of me until now, but I hope to befriend many of you so that many of you will know who I am in depth. Who knows, I might even set a time once a month/year where I'll open an Xfire chat room as a means to get the chance to get to know me (perhaps I'll even participate in interviews over Xfire/email, for those of you who like interviewing people). 8)

As fl00d also mentioned, I'm an adult and a student. I'm currently 19 years old, and I'm going to school at ITT Tech for an Associate's Degree in Web Development. If any of you are wondering why I would be taking web development courses, considering I already know most of it, it's simply because then if I go looking for a job locally that is hiring web developers, I can apply for the job knowing that I have a really good chance of being accepted.

Well... I think that's enough about me for now. Don't forget that I might reserve time for people to get to know me on Xfire (will announce it at least 3-4 days in advance if I do, so that you can request an invite), and for those those of you who do interviewing, feel free to perform Xfire/email interviews on me, just don't expect immediate responses from me (I'm a very busy person most of the time, and only get to check my email 1-2 times a day usually).

Well... the one I'm going to (Norwood, OH) has excellent teachers - one of my teachers was so nice that he wasn't going to let me fail any of the classes I had with him, no matter what it took (he let me do some school work on a Saturday when no one else was there). So in my opinion, they're a little better than they say. :o
