Webmaster/Web Team
Description: To setup, run, and maintain the community website and its forums.
--At least 16 years of age (8)
--Experience running an active website (10)
--Expert HTML knowledge (10)
--Expert PHP4+ experience (8)
--MySQL4 experience (8)
--A lot of phpBB experience (8)
--Some experience with phpNuke/CMS (8)
--Endorsement from 'DanPaul' (current webmaster)

Please do not apply for the position if you do not meet all of the requirements. These requirements were set as minimum requirements for a very good reason. We need people that are 100% able to do the job, and for this reason we are picky about who is eligible to fill the position. If you are accepted into the position(s) you will be required to be EXTREMELY active with this position. For example, if you take Calendar Admin then you will be required to not only maintain the site calendar, but approve events, post new events, and persuade people to use the calendar.

I'm trying to allow people to be more involved in the community - cuz it is your community, too. But I want to make sure I entrust someone that will actually get the job done. So only apply if you feel you can be extremely active in your responsibilities. Serious applicants ONLY!

PHPbb is my choice for forum its security and features surpass the others.
Can write web 2.0 apps including AJAX related apps. MySQL, MSQL, PSQL. phpMyAdmin.
FTP servers, VNC servers. I've done almost everything.

You sound quite knowledgeable on a few things that are important to us. I'll have a chat with the head webmaster (drkpwner) who is more about 'coding' than 'design' which may make a perfect mix.

I can code PHP very well.

We are looking for TWO PHP coders with a minimum of 1 year experience. Advanced knowledge is REQUIRED. No exceptions. Minimum desired age is around 16 (preferably 18). You must also be experienced with writing custom SQL and able to keep up with daily work.

I have been working with HTML and PHP ever since I was 13. I am now 19 years old and I have 6 years of experience under my belt. I had a web designing/hosting company which served 52 website accounts. I can code HTML like it is basic math (1 + 0 = 1), and PHP is another language that I have been coding for years now. I know how to work with all of the PhpBBs, aswell as IPB (Invision Powered Boards) and Proboards, SMF (Simple Machines Forums). I can make my own mods for all of these forums. SQL is very simple beyond reasoning ( ).

I've spoke with you on MSN and Teamspeak and I'll get you an interview with Danpaul to see if he wants you on the team. If he does, we'll take things to the next step.

Are you willing to give up your community to focus on this community? We make some pretty heavy requirements for our staff members because we really work hard on our community.

I figured I'd get that 'tough question' out of the way first.

Also, how much PHP experience do you have? Have you ever coded a php website from scratching using only your own code? If so, link me.

About your concerns:
1).I am commited to the communities i join.
However the community i am currently operating is still in the "construction" proccess and will be easily set aside to work on TSUgamings community.
other communities i am in are: st0rm gaming, and TundraIRC. the one i am currently working on is Undignified Festival and is an anual music festival setting up in september.
so in answer to your question: I am able to give up my current project. as a percent of time 75%-90%
of my time input.
and for st0rm i am just a moderator and like to play there.

2). i have enough php experience to get me by, but at the moment i am interested in learning more. something i very quickly drew up for chris's website a couple days ago is a php form to mail chris when someone wants to advertise on his site here's the link:

Since the previous applicant wasn't active enough, we let him go.

We are now looking for TWO extremely ACTIVE and DEDICATED webmasters with PERFECT php knowledge to join the web team.

You MUST:

1. Be able to communicate with me and other web staff members multiple times per day. If you're going to be "MIA" for more than 24 hours you need to make a post for all to see.
2. Have expert knowledge of PHP. This means coding custom phpbb modules and coding projects that could take many months to complete (with the help of other coders)
3. Be exclusively dedicated to Tsunami Gaming. You cannot be a webmaster or equivalent in any other communities.

As you can see by the number of webmasters we've fired, we take this very seriously. So you should too [when you apply].
