Ratty, there is a difference between being together, and getting married. Being together is girlfriend/boyfriend/lovers. Marriage is a commitment, and an expensive process.

The girl's parents pay for the wedding, so not expensive for Ratty ;). It's a long way down the road, he might change his mind.

Lol ec!

Killer....I know marriage is a commitment....dork, and I know its expensive, but i'm a spoiled child, so if for some reason I don't have enough money to finance this, then I know my parents will give me what ever I need. Which I would rather not do, but if I have to I will =o but I have 11 month to get a engagement ring and 23 months to get money for wedding.

Ya ill update it as needed =D

Tbvh, I'd wait untill after 21 before I tried any form of commitment, just seems people get a little more settled and think more after that age..or is it just me? o.0

Exactly what I was thinking after "when she gets out of highschool".

Ratty, no offense, but you really need to be careful.. I mean, she JUST became legal, but your proposing in 10 months :/

Well, its your decision, and either way, I wish you luck bud.
OMG.. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!!! don't do it until at least a year after she graduates!! She WILL change after graduating, mayba a lot, maybe drastically.. my ex fiance, became a relentless cheating whore, who said she wanted to marry me and settle down and all that stuff too.. but when she hit college.. she completely changed.. started drinking after begging me never to, started messing around with other guys.. Trust me on this: It is worth the wait to find out what happens instead of diving headfirst into this like I did, just to get your life ruined (also like I did).. I have just now (with this recent move) stopped my life's downward spiral.. at least a year since the breakup I went through..

I didn't read page 2-4 on this topic.. Idk what else was said.. I'm tired, and it's late here, but I felt this message was worth writing asap.. And I Know each girl/situation may be different, I'm just warning you based off of my personal devistation/expierience.. Whatever happens, I hope it all works out for the best =D .. Good freakin luck dude

Love sucks, sometimes you have to take chances. Yeah she might break your heart, but if you don't do anything and she gets with another guy, you will always say "what if." Having her turn out to be a whore is far worse than never being with her, but if you love her, I'd say go for it.

well, after thinking about it, and reading ecstacy's post.. let me resummerize my previous statement, half using Ecstacy's logic and my own: If you think you BOTH are ready. go ahead and do it.. However.. Don't make another mistake I made and Invest everything you have into the relationship..

I was a dumb kid.. I didn't know what I was doing.. I moved to a new city (Sac.) leased an apartment for a year (huge crippling mistake) bought her an engagement ring (waste of money) tried to go to school, not for myself, but to appease her (another dumb mistake).. And tried to do this on a part time mall job.. Yeah.. Now I realize how dumb I was, all too late

So, I still say wait it out a little longer than you're origionally planning.. Then still be cautious. and If you do go through with it, and you do make more money than her.. I suggest u get a prenuptial agreement.. seriously.. If you can then later find out you can truly trust her.. remove the agreement if you wish.. but never because she wants you too.. If she respects you, she'll respect & understand your decision..
