The problem is that fan maps are only played by like 10% of the community. And since we only have like 400 unique players these days ... that's like 4 people a day on the fan maps server (average), and that doesn't seem worth it. People are too lazy to download map packs.

gg? or were you taking other things into account? like we would only get 10% of that 40 or something?

No, I was just in a rush and apparently didn't put the zero behind the four. I'm actually very good with math - I just didn't have time to proof read like I normally do.

But that's 40 people out of 400 that would be WILLING to play a fan map because they have it. Now throw in additional factors like:

1. There is more than one fan maps server already
2. We currently only run our servers on XWIS (not wolspy)
3. All 40 of those people won't be on at the same time

I have a lot of experience running Renegade servers and communities/clans. I've been doing it for about 5 years now. I don't think a fan maps server would work very well right now - which is why I said we should wait until the new scripts comes out.

I think if it were not for the xwis only thing a new maps would work, a lot of people dislike the unrules server but play it as it is the only choice, jelly no longer has a map pack server and as the nick of ur server would be higher in the list I think you would be surprised of player levels that could be achieved.
