Trying to access hard drive.
I'm kind of a noob when it comes to computers and I couldn't find another place to put this topic. About 6 months ago I was just going through all my games on my computer and wanted to uninstall a couple of things and accidentally deleted only the "uninstall" programs, now my dilemma is that my computer is recognizing the game as a full install that doesn't work and I have no way of doing a full uninstall. I think if I can access my hard drive files I can get in there and wipe them clean but I'm not sure how to do that/if it's even possible. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.
Re: Trying to access hard drive.
Have you tried running the game again? See if it will let you do the repair option. Or uninstall from there.
I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to say here. It honestly doesn't make much sense.

Re: Trying to access hard drive.
Okay so I'll go into specifics. My Baldur's Gate game, I accidentally deleted some individual files instead of a clean full uninstall. Among those files was the uninstall file, therefore it presents me the "option" for a full uninstall but as soon as the uninstall shield pops up it gives me an "Unable to find the installation log file 'c:\gamimg\blackisle\baldurs gate\Uninst.isu'. Uninstallation will not continue." error message. No repair option and the game doesn't run because I also deleted some other key files on accident. I need to find a way to just wipe my system clean of all the files for said game and start fresh with it. If push comes to shove I can always just wipe my hard drive and restart EVERYTHING from scratch, wouldn't be THAT difficult, it would just take time. Right, lol?
Re: Trying to access hard drive.
go to 'c:\gamimg\blackisle\baldurs gate\*' - Delete all the files there
Find any registry keys it created and delete those too, else your computer might think that they are still there.

Re: Trying to access hard drive.
Registry keys would be fun
I'm guessing Add/Remove programs brings you to that same error:"Unable to find the installation log file 'c:\gamimg\blackisle\baldurs gate\Uninst.isu'. Uninstallation will not continue."?

Re: Trying to access hard drive.
That would work, or you could get your hands on the file you deleted and copy it back into the folder (eg. from the CDROM) and then try.dog02 wrote:go to 'c:\gamimg\blackisle\baldurs gate\*' - Delete all the files there

Re: Trying to access hard drive.
You could just delete the game files and then a registry cleaner will probably detect that is an invalid filepath and remove em for you.
Id suggest running the installation again to replace the uninstall and whatever. No need for it to be difficult
