[TGN] Network Multimedia Team

As many of you are aware, Tsunami Gaming has had a multimedia team for quite some time. They've produced a range of items such as our banner, custom graphics, and the TsuLogo.

As part of our ongoing evolution, I have decided to make a distinct separation between "network-level" (TGN) multimedia team and their authority/expectations and "member-level" (ie. TSU/TsuGaming.com) multimedia team.

As such, I have created a new multimedia team which will simply be known as the [TGN] Multimedia Team. All current multimedia team members will be kept in the TsuGaming Multimedia Team which will now be known as the [TSU] Multimedia Team.

The [TGN] MM Team will be led by Spazer. You will be expected to have EXPERT development skills as well as numerous examples of your professional works. 90% of the projects at this level will be extremely difficult and/or professional projects. For this reason, the expectations of members on this team will be dramatically higher.

The [TSU] MM Team will continue to be led by BassAce. They will be expected to provide multimedia productions for use on TsuGaming.com and related services ONLY.

Some members will be on one team, but not the other. Some members may be on both. It is entirely up to the leaders. If you are a member of the [TGN] multimedia team you will be given access to all member site multimedia teams by default unless their individual team leaders object. Spazer will have final authority over the distribution and use of all graphics used on the entire network. He will decide whether or not something is professional enough to be displayed (and if it is not, it will be the [TGN] multimedia team's responsibility to help the member site develop a better item).

These changes are effective immediately.

If you are interested in joining the [TGN] Network Multimedia Team and feel you are exceptionally qualified, please contact Spazer via Private Message.

Network Update

Greetings from your friendly neighborhood Founder! :suicide:

I'm sure many of you are scratching your heads wondering what's going on with all of the forum changes (more specifically, wondering WHY things are being setup the way that they are). So this topic aims to answer those questions.

Here are some updates for you:

  1. Until Dan and I are able to piece together a user management and "core database" system that can be used to serve the purpose I have envisioned, we will be squeezing the entire network's forum content onto "these" forums. Though they will most likely be moved to "tsugaming.net". But more on that later.
  2. The Tsunami Gaming (tsugaming.com) site will only be used for public servers. Right now that's probably confusing as hell because I just said it's only for servers yet the entire network's forums are on it. So if you don't get what I'm trying to say is about to happen with these first two updates ... just skip to #3. :P
  3. Tsunami Gaming is now run by Nightma12. As stated in a previous news post, I have resigned as CEO of Tsunami Gaming. This position is now held by Nightma12. Nightma12 was also given "ownership" of TsuGaming.com equal to my ownership of TsuGaming.com. So we're both 50% owners of TsuGaming.com. Which is a decision made by TGN, which I currently own exclusively (100%). Nightma12 has opt'd to clear out the senior leadership (Executive Board and Council) for now, and only keep two managers in place (Pharoahgakash for gMod, and Darkdarr for Renegade).
  4. After the core network issues have been addressed (item #1), we will begin developing some of the new sites you see listed such as Lobbywars.com, MakeMePro.com, StrategyShare.com, etc. If you're an ADVANCED web developer interested in helping out - let me know via Private Message.
  5. Our "Marketplace" has now evolved into "RPG Market" (RPGmarket.net). Which is an official member of TGN managed by Citation. You're encouraged to sell all of your RPG items, services, etc. on this site - and to tell your friends about it. We will be introducing anti-fraud measures into this site as if it were a business. It will be much more professional and secure than many other item sites on the internet right now.

For now, the way that the forums work is: all of the "common" forums (forums that could be used on every site in the network such as 'Hangout') are shown at the very top under TGN HEADQUARTERS. Kind of like how our "GENERAL" section used to work. Under TGN HEADQUARTERS category is the NETWORK FORUMS category, which contains one forum for each of the network members (eg. tsugaming.com, makemepro.com, lobbywars.com, rpgmarket.net). Once you click on one of them, you'll see all forums relevant only to that website. To view another site's forums you'll have to back track.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here.

Gamer-Talk *Reviews & Sequels*

-Not just because i tend to dominate my own forums.... (lol) So i was doing some digging the other day (while dealing with a Kidney Stone) and i came to the profound discovery that:

WARNING SPOILER ALERT!!!

Spoiler: show
Portal 2 isn't gonna happen.

The reason why it's not gonna happen, is the person who made the first, *nay! made Portal happen* has left Valve. (Probably in search of better work, money ect) Meanwhile while Valve seems to be enjoying all those Team Fortress 2 extras, wasn't there a Episode 3 they where supposed to be working on? I feel like i have come to a Rolling Stones Concert and the Rolling Stones don't feel like coming out, so they have us kept entertained with an old TV showing episodes of the Jetsons. (Yes i watch alot of Zero Punctuation, i would LOVE to be a Game Reviewer/Critic)

I understand the HYPE = BAD problem episode 2 had, with the false trailer content, and other problems, but come on, it's been 3 years since the Orange Box came out. The only reason i can think of, is they are dumbing down the third installment for the Console-Tards. OR i may be wrong, they will make it only for the glorious PC Gamer Master Race so the Console-Tards don't ruin it. But who cares right? As along as the gameplay is good, the graphics are what we have come to expect from Valve, there should be no reason to worry about PC and Console Versions.

Next Up:

Spoiler: show
Psychonauts 2 won't happen for reasons unknown.

If you have played the first (which is now available on steam for the low, low price of 9 bucks (sometimes 2 bucks) I want you to take part in yet, another practical demonstration. I want you to find a pencil-like object surrounding your keyboard. Now, i want you to place that pencil/pen/ect in between your second and third finger. Finally, I want you to use your other hand to squeeze in on those fingers.

You may have realized that this really f*cking hurts, and your now in a great amount of pain. You have just received your punishment for not having bought and played Psychonauts. If i would have to review this game, i would have to say that it really depends on what party you stand on. your either in:

Party A - The kinda of person who thinks this is the game Jesus would make if he where alive and not a pussy. The kind of Misty-Eyed "Games Are Art" Hippy who can allow things like excellent story telling and charming artistic direction excuse a few game-play issues.

Party B - A chunky vomit milkshake severely over-hyped by the people in Party A. The kind of twitchy Ritalin-popping Xbox owner who falls into a narcoleptic coma when they go without killing someone for 45 seconds.

Me, i loved it. hope a sequel will show up to continue the story.

Those that want to comment/review, go for it! keep it funny, and tasteful!

Let's all give a big hand to Danpaul!

I don't think Danpaul gets enough of the praise that he deserves for the great work he does around here. So I thought it may be nice to start a topic to show our appreciation.

I for one would like to thank you for your dedication to, and patience with, my vision. I know I'm not the easiest person to satisfy and I know you're a busy guy. Yet you still manage to produce quality work.

Thank you!

Battalion At The Ready

Congratulation squad. We've done what none other small elite quad has done. We've fallen high ranked clans, gotten to level 4 with a small team online mostly, and well, we've gotten to Level 4. Good Job. But now we have something to look forward to..... 26k EXP to earn...... That means we have to do what we did in 1 year and 2 months time, 3.45 times over. Now that we have a bigger squad, better record, and loyal people joining by the week, this should be easier. 70 Slot clan lmao, went from 20 to 30 to 50 to 70.

Forum downtime

I will be taking the forums offline for a short period of time (approximately 15-30 minutes) to do some reorganization related to the upcoming TGN architectural restructuring. [Read This]

Network Changes

After about a month of discussions, debates, votes, and contemplation on my behalf...

I have decided to make a few changes to "Tsunami Gaming". And here they are:

  • Tsunami Gaming (http://www.tsugaming.com) and The Tsunami Gaming Network (TGN) will no longer be the same thing. We will be changing the architecture of our network to support a three-tier system: Tsunami Alliance > TGN > Tsunami Gaming. To avoid confusion, TsuGaming.com will be known as "TsuGaming" (or Tsunami Gaming) and TsuGaming.net will be known as "TGN" (or Tsunami Gaming Network).
  • Tsunami Alliance partners/affiliates will NOT be integrated. They're simply accepted into the alliance by popular vote. They run everything on their own, with their own names, and 100% rights to their content. TGN members WILL be integrated and all of their content and data will be exclusively owned by TGN.
  • Tsunami Gaming (http://www.tsugaming.com) will change its focus exclusively to public servers. No longer will it support clans, leagues, or games (subcommunities) that do not have a public server. This will be handled by other TGN organizations.
  • Tsunami Gaming Network (http://www.tsugaming.net) will be the parent site to Tsunami Gaming. TGN (http://www.tsugaming.net) will manage and maintain all data including content ownership, databases, and administrative authority over all TGN member websites.
  • Each website will share the same user data. While the way this is done may change over time (to become more and more efficient and feature-rich), initially it will simply mean that you will only have one login for every website under TGN (even if they're on different domain names).

The structure can be best summarized as follows:
Image

In addition to these architectural changes, there will subsequently be some leadership structure (and position) changes. They are:
  • The Tsunami Gaming Network (http://www.tsugaming.net) will have an Executive Board which will preside over all member websites under the TGN. On it will be myself (Founder/CEO), Nightma12 (COO), and Danpaul (CTO). Many of the senior leadership/staff positions such as Public Relations (PR) will now be a TGN-level position (not Tsunami Gaming).
  • Crazyreb (aka sOaPeY) will hold the TGN staff position of Public Relations. He will oversee the administrative integration (and advertisement) of member sites. TGN will hold its own staff positions for things such as server administration, web team, multimedia team, etc. You will be able to apply for TGN-staff as well as individual member site staff positions (such as TsuGaming.com multimedia team). Just because you're on one does not mean you're on the other(s). TGN-level staff positions will have much higher standards and expectations.
  • In light of all of these changes, and because of some personal issues, I will be resigning my position as "Chief Executive Officer" of Tsunami Gaming (tsugaming.com). I will still be considered the only Founder and an owner.
  • Nightma12 will take my place as the leader of Tsunami Gaming (tsugaming.com). He has decided not to keep the "Executive Board" structure, therefore he won't be titled CEO. Simply "an owner". However he decides to restructure leadership after I leave is up to him.

These last four years have been a great experience for me. I have watched this community evolve from a group of Renegade outcasts to a multigaming community, and now into a proper network. While we're still experiencing some growing pains, I feel my work here is done. And it is now time for me to move on to bigger and better things. As many of you may or may not know, it has been my hobby and business to start up various web organizations for the last 10 years. In addition to the changes here, I am building other networks (under other names and aliases) as well as starting numerous business ventures/projects. Because of this, I need to dedicate all of my energy and time on the new projects.

Please give Nightma12 and Danpaul your full cooperation. Respect them as you would respect me. And give them a chance to lead you to a brighter future.

Thank you all for the great games and experiences over the last few years. I'll see you around in the future! ;)

Front Page News Updated

The categories for the front page news topics have been updated *again* to include the latest selection of gaming sub communities within the Tsunami Gaming Network. In addition I have also updated the news topic display to include the forum icon for the news forum each topic comes from, making it easier to see which community each news item is for.

EDIT;
Navigation menu has also been updated and been modified to work slightly differently.

Important Discussion

There is an important thread I would like to bring to everyone's attention:
http://tsugaming.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6699

I didn't want to take up the entire front page with the long post, so that's why I didn't just post it here in the News section. Please take the time to read it and provide quality feedback.

Thanks!

The Garry's Mod Movie 3

Yep, back by popular vote (so to speak) out entire crew will embark on this new flick, in hops of topping some of our best skits in previous movies.

As Many of you already know, the first movie is on my Youtube page broken up into 4 parts. However the sequel is not, because i am 96.4% sure it will get muted because of the Audio used in some parts. I'll try to upload it part by part... if it gets muted, it comes off. Anyway the Basic Braining starts this week. Once again it is a Members Only project. I'll explain some more things later once we get started. Good Luck!
